NextGen Nordics: P27 in focus at October 22 webinar

P27 CEO Lars Sjögren is among the featured speakers at the upcoming NextGen Nordics webinar.

Registration is now open for the October 22 event, which will focus on the progress of P27’s implementation, the project’s benefits, and how banks and suppliers may adapt to a new payments reality.

“NextGen Nordics is a great forum for discussing the ongoing payments transformation in the Nordics, its impact, and P27’s role in the process,” says Sjögren.

The Nordic payments landscape is on the verge of taking a great leap forward as banks and financial authorities prepare for a major overhaul of the region’s payment infrastructure.

Already, four banks representing 60 percent of the Swedish market are participating in P27’s frontrunner implementation project.

In addition, discussions are ongoing with financial authorities in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Norway to help prepare for the new payments platform.

“While the Covid-19 pandemic may have moved the NextGen Nordics online for 2020, it hasn’t slowed down our work at P27 or reduced the importance of keeping the region’s financial community in the loop,” Sjögren adds.

In addition to P27 CEO Lars Sjögren, the NextGen Nordics webinar will feature the following speakers to discuss the P27 implementation process and the impact on realizing the vision of a Nordic payments region:

  • Jesper Nielsen, CEO, BEC
  • Erik Zingmark, Head of Transaction Banking, Nordea
  • Roberto Tittarelli, EVP – Market Development New Payments Platforms, Mastercard

The discussion will be moderated by Finextra’s Head of Research Gary Wright.

The NextGen Nordics event has been organized in partnership with FinExtra and is scheduled as an online webinar that will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 14:00 CEST.
