P27 starts new joint project with Bankgirot focusing on Swedish payment infrastructure and closes down its operations in Finland and Denmark during 2023. P27 is the owner of Bankgirot and the two companies will deepen their cooperation through the joint project.

P27’s focus has shifted focus from a Nordic scope to, as the owner of Bankgirot, securing and transforming the current payment infrastructure in Sweden.

“It is important to use the collective competence and expertise and lessons learned across P27 and Bankgirot to identify what is needed to modernise the current infrastructure, as well as in the long term, create a solution for a new future-proof payment infrastructure in Sweden,” says Paula da Silva, CEO of P27”

As the focus forward for P27 is on the Swedish payment infrastructure, P27 will close down its operations in Finland and Denmark. P27 will work for the company’s 35 employees in the affected countries to be offered relevant positions within the owner banks. No notices of termination have been given.

“I’m proud that P27, in this challenging situation can act as a responsible employer. We will follow collective agreements, laws and employment contracts in each country and support our employees to find new jobs within the Nordic banking community,” Paula da Silva continues.

P27s is owned by six Nordic banks; Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, OP Financial Group, SEB, and Swedbank. P27 will remain as owner of Bankgirot, that operates the current payment infrastructure in Sweden.
